The Challenge

Fronteer.us is the brainchild of Jon Tang. With an insatiable passion for footwear and the outdoors, Jon Tang developed Fronteer. The answer to today’s urban thrillseeker yearning for the great outdoors. There is a borderless quality to the brand with its style and color scheme that feels classic and future at the same time. He needed an online shop to reflect this vision and launch his brand. He also needed something he could manage himself with email branding to match.

The Solution

He had a vision for strong brand identity that Techretaries first translated into a splash page. Incorporating Jon’s design sense for user discovery we created a full-screen color gradient that infinitely faded between the brand colors as you scrolled, a contact form that flew in from the bottom when pressing the “Discover” button, all the while being cross-browser compatible and tablet and mobile-ready.

When Jon was ready for a full site, he designed a modern layout that we developed into a customized Shopify eCommerce theme. The theme featured the splash page and animated into the homepage, a hero slider that changed products with each reload, a parallax about page featuring Jon’s outdoor photography, branded drop-downs on the product page, and a lot of extra small features unique to his concept.

In order to easily funnel contact form submissions and orders from the website, Techretaries also established a G-Suite (Google Apps for Work) account to accompany the new website and assisted Jon with the process of branding the new account to look on point with his customers, vendors and fans.

Today

We keep an eye on Fronteer.us for fixes and updates. With big ideas on the horizon, Jon is selling his shoes online and with stockists in New York, Brooklyn, LA, Italy, Australia and South Korea. If you can’t get ahold of him, chances are he’s hiking somewhere without a signal.

“Techretaries really came through with our brand’s website. We were looking to try things that had never been done before. They were able to figure out solutions not only in things we were looking for but also things we had not considered.”
